Lord’s Day Message
Bible Verses: Psalm 23
Bible Verses:
“1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever. ” (NKJ)
Messages
- Psalm 23 speaks the life of Christians from the beginning of being saved that we know God is our shepherd to the end that we can commit ourselves to live in the house of God.
- Jehovah is full of life and full of vitality. He is also omnipresent, omniscient, with all-power and all-wisdom to render us the best leading. This makes us to stay in the flock and follow Him all our life,
- In trusting His leading we shall not want, which means we have no need, we are not weak, and we do not decline. Furthermore, He will give us flesh supply and restful enjoyment in His leading.
- In such supply our soul will be restored. We no longer live for the world, but for our God. This is to walk in the paths of righteousness to pursue what God desires.
- When we live for God, we will realize that we walk on a narrow way and walk through the valley of the shadow of death. However, no matter how hard our environment is, when we look above, we will always see God’s presence.
- We will gradually grow in such process and realize that God has prepared a table through our experiences. Every time we trust in God and every time we yield to Him, the experiences will become the dishes in this banquet. In the end, we are brought into the house of God.
- This is the growth of every Christian, stage by stage: from knowing God is our shepherd, to experience Christ is in us, then we are in Christ, Christ grows in us, to Christ displays in us. In the end we commit ourselves to dwell in the house of God forever.
