Lord’s Day Message
Bible Verses: 2 Thessalonians Chap 3

“Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you, and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men. For not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one. And we have confidence in the Lord about you, that you are doing and will do the things that we command. May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.” (2 Thess. 3:1~5, ESV)
“As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good. If anyone does not obey what we say in this letter, take note of that person, and have nothing to do with him, that he may be ashamed. Do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother.” (2 Thess. 3:13~15)
Message Outline
1. Pray for the serving ones so that the Word of the Lord can be spread out
Paul mentioned some wrong teaching of the truth in chapter two. Here he encouraged the saints to pray for the Lord’s coworkers that the words of the Lord can be spread out fast.
The word of the Lord is the belief of the gospel which delivers people from the authority of the darkness into the kingdom of God’s Son (Col. 1:13). It is also the life supply which helps the saints to grow and live according to God’s will so they can have the stature of the Christ (Eph. 4:13). These are both spiritual warfare, which requires us pray in one accord.
2. Direct our hearts into the love and steadfastness
The spiritual warfare can not be fought by our natural ability or wisdom, but is related to the relationship between our heart (representing our whole being) and God. Therefore Paul prays for the saints that the Lord can direct their hearts into God’s love and the steadfastness of Christ.
God’s love is the source for our spiritual life, which can soothe and strengthen our life. When our hearts are saturated in God’s love, we can have real prayers for others and be protected from flesh reactions (when we face negative situations).
Steadfastness is the strength for us to keep going in our life. It helps us not to lose heart and to live in God’s will healthily and continuously.
3. Admonishing those walk disorderly
To admonish others is not an easy work. For example, Paul says in one way “have nothing to do with him”, but in another way, he also says “warn him as a brother”. Here we do need the help of God’s love and Christ’s steadfastness. Moreover we also need to have a clear understanding of truth and become a pattern for others to follow. Then we can have true care and ability to help for others.
No matter what, we also need to learn not to grow weary in doing good. We shall not let negative situations to stumble us to follow the Lord.

- On June 8 we will hold an English speaking conference for the young people. The topic will be “The choice of your life and the salvation of Christ” based on the book of Ruth. Today afternoon at 1:00 there will be a fellowship about the serving of the conference. All the young people serving ones please join the fellowship. Other brothers and sisters are also welcome to join the fellowship about the food service and other activities.
- 2. Next Lord’s Day (2/6) we will review 2 Thessalonians. May all the brothers and sisters prepare for the sharing earnestly.
- Next Lord’s Day (2/6) there will be a fellowship about baptism after the Lord’s Day meeting. Whoever is ready for baptism please join at 1:00 PM in the prayer room.
- After sharing the epistles of Thessalonians, we will share the gospel of Luke for the Lord’s message. More brothers will participate the sharing.
- Someone in the church has a food allergy. When you bring the dishes for the lunch on Lord’s Day, please do not bring anything that contains nuts. If you do, please put a note and separate it from the other foods.
- Please make the meeting on time or even earlier so that all can come together to enjoy the presence of the Lord and His rich supply.
Intercession：
- Pray for the young people conference on June 8. May the Lord give us the burning Spirit that all of us can know His love and become His lover.
- Pray that the Lord can give us a rich supply in His words on the Lord’s message and that each of us will be fed and grow. Pray for gospel friends that they can touch the Lord through His words.
- May the Lord give every brother and sister a spirit of preaching gospel and open the hearts of all friends that they can receive the salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Pray that the Lord will give every brother and sister good health, peace and joy in our daily living. May the Lord heal those who are sick according to His good will that we can experience His great love and power of resurrection.
