Lord’s Day Message
Topics: To Establish the Brothers in Faith
Bible Verses: 1 Thess. 2:17~3:13
Important Verses:
“For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you? For you are our glory and joy.” (1 Thess. 2:19~20, ESV)
“And we sent Timothy, our brother and God’s coworker in the gospel of Christ, to establish and exhort you in your faith, that no one be moved by these afflictions. For you yourselves know that we are destined for this.” (1 Thess. 3:2~3)
“For this reason, brothers, in all our distress and affliction we have been comforted about you through your faith. For now we live, if you are standing fast in the Lord.” (1 Thess. 3:7~8)
“And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you, so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.” (1 Thess. 3:12~13)
Message Outline:
- The hope, joy, and crown of the serving ones
- How do we see the brothers and sisters around us? Do we just see their shortcoming, weakness, and failures? Or we do see they are our hope, joy and crown.
- We need to learn to see brothers and sisters with God’s view and love. Upon them there are God’s mercy and grace, God’s redemption and salvation, as well as God’s eternal work and glory.
2. To establish brothers so that no one will be moved by afflictions
a. What are these afflictions? Why it is appointed?
- For Paul’s background, the afflictions were the persecutions from the Jews. For us, we may not experience the same persecutions as Paul experienced; however, we will meet many temptations to make us lose faith in God and church.
- Our faith needs to go through all kinds of environment to receive God’s perfecting and blessing in the end.
b. We should not be bothered by the afflictions but careful not to be moved by them
- Many times afflictions are relative. To someone they may be difficulties and blows, but to others they may become challenges and opportunities.
- If we are enlightened we will see all the environments can help us to know God’s faithfulness and care in grace.
3. The increase in faith and love
- All of these environments help us to know the preciousness of God and the brothers and sisters. All these experiences make us have more assurance of God’s protection and the support of the saints, God’s strengthening and the encouragement of the saints.
- Through the increase of faith and love we can be established, and become blameless in holiness before God.

Announcements：
- If there is a gospel friend who wants to be baptized, please contact Brother Yu-Lin Wang or Richard Chen, so a talk before the baptism will be arranged on the lesson concerning the truth of the baptism.
- Please make the meeting on time or even earlier so that all can come together to enjoy the presence of the Lord and His rich supply.
- The church will organize a 3 days blending activity at Myuna Bay Resort on April, 19-21. All are welcome to participate. Please ask Richard and Lamee for details.
- On April 27, Saturday the church will hold a young people conference in meeting hall. The topic will be on the book of Ruth. The young people can sleep over in meeting that night.
- In June and July there are perfecting trainings in Cleveland, USA. On June 17~21 and 24~29, the training is for the study on Galatians. On July 8~12 and 15~19 the topics is on serving and prophesying. If any brother or sister is interested to participate, please contact Brother Yu-Lin Wang.
Intercession：
- Pray for Brother Changchun Ma and Sister Danan Lu who are newly baptized. May the Lord help them to grow and become His testimony. Also pray the Lord to care for Sister Lu’s health.
- May the Lord give every brother and sister a spirit of preaching gospel and open the hearts of all friends that they can receive the salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Pray that the Lord will give every brother and sister healthiness, peace and joy in our daily living. May the Lord heal those who are sick according to His good will that we can experience His great love and power of resurrection.
