Lord’s Day Message: Eph.3:14-21

¹⁴  For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, ¹⁵  from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, ¹⁶  that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, ¹⁷  so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith–that you, being rooted and grounded in love, ¹⁸  may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, ¹⁹  and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

²⁰  Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, ²¹  to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Message Outline: Paul’s prayer – From the saints to be strengthened to God to be glorified

• Its contents

1. To be strengthened in our inner being
2. So that Christ may dwell in our hearts
3. That we may know the love of Christ
4. That we may be filled with all the fullness of God

• Its accomplishment : It is accomplished by God who is able to do abundantly according to the power at work within us
• Its result: God is glorified in the church and in Christ Jesus

Application and Discussion

1. What is the purpose of Paul’s prayer in this section? With that in mind why does God need to strengthen our inner being?
2. In his prayer Paul has mentioned three aspects of love: being rooted and grounded in love, the breadth and length and height and depth of love, and the love hat surpasses knowledge. Please share your understanding or experiences in these three aspects.
3. We often apply verse 20 in our personal prayer, which is good. However, what did God want to do in Paul’s prayer? Can we bow down our knees and pray for this?

Announcements:

1. We welcome all the new ones who are joining us today. May God bless you and lead you into this family of God.
2. On March 28-30 the senior group plans to have a camp near The Entrance. So far we have 12 brothers and sisters who will attend. Since the capacity of the room is 22 people, so now we welcome all brothers and sisters to join us. Please contact Brother Benchu Guo for details.

Today after lunch, whoever will join the camp please come to fellowship room to discuss the details for the camp.

3. Next Lord’s Day meeting is Combined meeting. We also welcome all to come to the hall at 9am for breakfast together and prepare our heart to meet the Lord.
4. This year the Collaroy conference will be held on April 14-17. Brothers Michael Samulak and Benjamin Sheu will be the speakers and they will cover the book of Jonah. This year all the brothers and sisters, young people and adults, can all join together.

The cost of the conference is $350 for adults and $300 for children (the real cost is $415.80/adult, $331.80/child for hotel room; and $327.60/adult, $315.00/child for cabin). The difference may be made up by offering. However, if anyone has financial difficulty, please fellowship with Brother Richard Chen or Yulin Wang that the cost can be waived in portion or in full amount. Please do not lost the chance to have Lord’s blessing just because of the financial need. (The minimum number for the camp is about 85.)

You can register online in the church web site (some young people can help in lunch time) or register with Sister Hannah Cui. We hope all can register by today.

5. On April 23 there will be an English speaking gospel meeting. We welcome the brothers and sisters to invite friends to join.
6. On July 9-15 the church plans to join the Chinese speaking conference in Cleveland, USA. If any brothers and sisters are interested, please register with Brother Yulin Wang.

<Reminder>

1. For brothers and sisters please bring our own Bible and hymn book for the Lord’s Day meeting.
2. During the meeting, please turn off your mobile phone or put the volume on silence and not to walk around or to wonder/talk too laud in the kitchen.
3. When you prepare the love feast for Lord’s Day lunch, please do not prepare any food containing nuts as someone may have food allergy.

Please refrain from bringing uncooked food for the love feast so we may lighten the work for the serving ones in the kitchen.

Intercession:

1. May the Lord bless the gospel friends among us that they can know how precious the Lord is and are willing to believe in Him.
2. Pray for the new believers (Brother Frank Wang, Sisters XiaChun Li & YuRong Liu, and 15 brothers and sisters in 2016). May the Lord establish them in the church life and bless their growth in life.
3. May the Lord bless the camp of the senior group as well as the Collaroy conference so that the brothers and sisters can desire to participate and joyfully receive the supply of God’s word and love of brothers and sisters.
4. Pray for the brothers and sisters or their relatives who are weak in body or spirit. May the Lord care for them and give them sufficient grace.
5. We thank the Lord for Sister Lydia that her daughter has married. May the Lord bless their family.
