Lord’s Day Message: Building up the church in love (Eph. 4:11-16)

¹¹ And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, ¹² to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, ¹³ until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, ¹⁴ so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. ¹⁵ Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, ¹⁶ from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

¹⁸ But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. ¹⁹ If all were a single member, where would the body be? ²⁰ As it is, there are many parts, yet one body. ²¹ The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” ²² On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, ……²⁶ If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. ²⁷ Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. (1 Cor. 12)

²⁸ And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues. (1 Cor. 12)

¹³ So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.¹ Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. (1 Cor. 13:13-14:1)

We also welcome two brothers from US, Mike Samulak and Benjamin Sheu. We believe their coming will bring the Lord’s word and abundant life supply to us.

2. Regarding the Collaroy Conference

Date: April 22-25 ( Friday night to Monday noon)

Topic: Luke 15. When we were lost, God came to seek us so that we would find our meaning in life.

Speakers: Mike Samulak and Ben Sheu

Object:  Adults, young people as well as friends

Cost: $240 for adult, $230.40 for children (Primary school or below), Day trip: $50/Day. If whole family participates (including the day trip) then you can have 20% off. If you have financial hardship, please fellowship with Brother Richard Chen. Please pay the cost to sister Lamee.

Please note there will be no meeting at the hall next Lord’s Day. Please do come to Collaroy Centre to join the meeting together.

3. Today after the Lord’s Day meeting two brothers, Bangde Liu and Peter Zhang will be baptized into the name of the Lord. May all brothers and sisters come to support them by prayers, giving thanks and praises toe the Lord.

<Reminder>

1. Brothers and sisters, please bring your own bible to the meeting.
2. Please come on time for the meeting. During the meeting, please turn off your mobile phone or put the volume on silence and not to walk around or to wonder in the kitchen.
3. When you prepare the love feast for Lord’s Day lunch, please do not prepare any food containing nuts as someone may have food allergy. After the love feast, please remember to bring back your plates.

Intercession:

1. May the Lord keep blessing the gospel work of the church and keep us fervent in spirit to preach the gospel. Pray that the Lord will bless the gospel friends to believe into the Lord and to be baptized into God’s family.
2. Pray for Brothers David Hu, Gerald Huang, Bangde Liu and Peter Zhang as well as sisters, Li Li, Mandy Zhou and Leonie, who were just baptized. May the Lord establish them in the church life and bless their growth in life.
3. Pray for the coming Collaroy conference. May the Lord bless us through His words that we have more desire to pursue Him and to serve Him.
4. Pray for the brothers and sisters or their relatives (Richard Chen’s Father) who are weak in body or spirit. May the Lord care for them and give them sufficient grace. Pray especially for the health of Brothers HinSang Woon and Brother Shanwon Chow.
5. Pray for those year 12 students among us. May the Lord give them wisdom to meet the needs of the exam and help them to know His presence as their encouragement and timely help.
