Lord’s Day Message: 1 John 2:15~3:10
- Exhortation concerning the church life: Love the Father and do not love the world and the things in the world (2:15-17)
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world–the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions–is not from the Father but is from the world. 17 And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. (ESV)
- Dealing with the wrong teaching of Antichrist (2:18-27)

22 Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. 23 No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also.
24 Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise that he made to us–eternal life.
27 But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie–just as it has taught you, abide in him.

a. The description of sin: sin is lawlessness and those who practice sinning are of the devil
b. The salvation of the Lord: His appearing is to take away the sins and to destroy the works of the devil
c. The way to be saved: To be born of God and to abide in the Lord
28 And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming.
1 See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. … 2 Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.
5 You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. 6 No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him.
8 Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. 9 No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God.

Announcements:
- We welcome all the new ones who are joining us today and hope that you can leave your information for us to contact you in the future. After meeting please stay for lunch and enjoy the love feast together with us.
- The church plans to have a baptism on February 21. If any gospel friends are willing to receive the Lord and to be baptized, after lunch please have fellowship with Brother Yu-Lin Wang to pursue the truth of baptism.
- Today after lunch the church will have a fellowship for children service. We welcome those who have served, is serving and is willing to learn to serve to join us. Through the fellowship we hope many can learn to serve and have some new plans in the near future.
In the same time, we also have a new arrangement for the kitchen service. If you burden to serve, please contact Sisters Lily Li and Jessica Wang. Also if you are not a serving one, please do not stay in the kitchen during the meeting.
- From April 22 Friday night to 25 Monday noon (ANZAC day) the church plans to have a conference at Collaroy. The year we have reserved 84 for accommodation, so in addition to young people we also encourage the parents and adults to join.
- From 28/5 to 4/6 the church plans to visit the church in Cleveland (US) to join the conference and pursuing there. If any brothers and sisters are interesting, please contact Brother Yu-Lin Wang.

- Brothers and sisters, please bring your own bible to the meeting.
- Please come on time for the meeting. During the meeting, please turn off your mobile phone or put the volume on silence.
- When you prepare the love feast for Lord’s Day lunch, please do not prepare any food containing nuts as someone may have food allergy. After the love feast, please remember to bring back your plates.
Intercession:
- Give thanks to the Lord for the gospel meeting last week. Play that the seed of life can grow in the heart of many gospel friends.
May the Lord keep blessing the gospel work of the church and keep us fervent in spirit to preach the gospel. Pray that the Lord will bless the gospel friends among us to receive His salvation. Also pray for those have received the Lord to be baptized into God’s family.
- Pray for the brothers and sisters or their relatives who are weak in body or spirit. May the Lord care for them and give them sufficient grace. Pray especially for the health of Brothers HinSang Woon and Brother Shanwon Chow.
